Nathan Clark, Trumpet

Nathan Clark will be performing with the Philharmonic Ensemble at the March 10, 2024 Concert at the Weinberg Center for the Performing Arts.

Trumpet and Cornet Player Staff Sergeant Nathan Clark, joined “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band in October 2019.


Mr. Clark began his musical instruction on piano at age 6 and trumpet at age 9. In 1998 he graduated from Susquehannock High School in Glen Rock, and in 2001 he joined the United States Air Force Band in Washington, D.C. While in the Air Force, Mr. Clark performed with the concert band until 2006, and then served as part of the ceremonial brass until 2019.

In 2013, he earned his bachelors of music in trumpet performance from the University of Maryland in College Park. His notable teachers include Steve Hendrickson of the National Symphony Orchestra, Chris Gekker of the University of Maryland, and Thomas Smith of the New York Philharmonic.

Prior to joining “The President’s Own,” Staff Sgt. Clark also performed frequently as a substitute for numerous Washington-area ensembles, including the National Symphony Orchestra, National Philharmonic, and Washington National Opera.
